MEET THE SERVANTS: The Heart of Missions at Home

God's providence is incredible. We call it "good/perfect timing"; and it is, but it is so much more. God is so far ahead of us that we couldn't fathom all that He has, and is doing. It is staggering.

LAST WEEK, we dove into our verse by verse study through the book of Philippians. My first point of that message was, "1. Meet The Servants", as we looked at the two names associated with the letter; Paul & Timothy. Two members of the missionary team that were used to take the Gospel to Philippi. We saw in Acts 16 how this team and this church found their start in adversity and hardships. We met the Servants, the Saints, and heard the good news of "grace and peace" that are ours in God through Christ.

This week we move into the heart of joy and Gospel Partnerships. I have already been praying about ways to take the principles we are learning and make them practical and tangible. Wouldn't you know it, God was way ahead of me.

Long before I realized it, God had made it possible for two of our dearest friends, and most treasured Missionary Partners, to be in town with us, on the same weekend. What are the chances? 100%.

ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 23, 2021, we will have a MISSIONS FOCUS SUNDAY with our guests joining us for the service. Our message this week from Philippians will lead us directly into our response to Gospel Partnership & Gospel Fellowship

UNTIL THEN, MEET OUR GOSPEL PARTNERS:

CASPER, SARAH, & RUVA (THE QUEEN-BEE) MAPURISA | ZIMBABWE

Casper and Sarah met through missions. Casper, a native to Zimbabwe met the girl from Tennessee (Sarah) through mutual friends who had served on the field in Zimbabwe. Through God's providence, they now serve full-time in Bulawayo. Recently, both nations were blessed to welcome their daughter Ruva to the family.

Together, they serve in orphan care in a children's home, church ministry and discipleship, church planting and discipleship in rural bush ministry, and so much more. To hear more about Casper and Sarah, and the work of Hope Dwells Zimbabwe, visit the link below:

Their heart for the Gospel, Missions, and the Glory of God is demonstrated in all that they do. We love them dearly, and I know that you will too.

RICKEY, AMY, MACEY, & BODEY COPE | GUATEMALA

Rickey and Amy Cope love missions. They have for as long as I have known them. God used that heart to develop a love and burden for the country and people of Guatemala. After several years and mission trips, the Lord led them to a mountain region outside of Chiquimula, where an unknown number of villages and people have never heard the good news of the Gospel.

Soon, the Copes will move to the area full-time. There Macey and Bodey will help serve and minister in the communities surrounding the mountain, and the region itself. Through dump ministry, discipleship, and a goal to replicate through church-planting, the work in Guatemala is as rewarding as it is challenging. We have known and loved this family for years. We affirm their call and work, and rejoice over what God is doing, and will do!

UNTIL THEN, PREPARE YOURSELF, SAINTS:

HOW TO PREPARE

  • PRAY:
    • Pray that God will open our eyes to see His purpose, work, and the call to missions.
    • Pray for the wisdom, means, and faith to move in obedience.
    • Pray for God to speak now, and prepare us for whatever He has.
    • Pray for St. Johns and for God to be glorified in us.
    • Pray for the Cope Family and the Mapurisa Family as they travel, and prepare to share their hearts, and opportunities with us.
    • Pray for their ministries and those they leave behind (family, friends, etc.)
    • Pray for God's blessings on them and their labor.
  • LEARN:
    • Learn about their individual ministries.
    • Learn about the countries, regions, and peoples they serve.
    • Learn ways to engage with missionaries and missions.
  • RESPOND:
    • Respond to the Lord's commands, and His work in us by the Spirit.
    • Respond to the needs and opportunities presented.
    • Respond now; submit to Him and His purposes.

UNTIL THEN, LET ME KNOW IF I CAN HELP YOU PREPARE.

If you have questions, comments, or would like resources to help you prepare and learn, let me know. Send me an email (tracytrivette@gmail.com) and I will help in any way I can.

I am praying for you, church. I love you and give thanks to God for you. I pray we come together each week, prepared and ready to respond. I pray we start today; "Take my life and let it, wholly consecrated, Lord, to Thee."

Because of Christ,
TT - Acts 20:24
